CEO Machining to Perform Work at Niagara Falls Hydroelectric Facility

Cutting Edge Onsite Machining has been selected to perform onsite machining services at the Lewiston Pump-Generation Plant, a 240MW hydroelectric facility near Niagara Falls, New York. CEO Machining will be a subcontractor to Gracon LLC, a hydroelectric and dam rehabilitation general contractor.

Michael Earwood, Vice-President of Operations at Gracon LLC stated, “We’re glad to bring in CEO Machining on this project. We’ve worked with their leadership team on previous projects have been impressed by their quality and ability to adhere to our difficult schedules.”

Gracon is currently rehabilitating all 12 of the units at Lewiston over an eight-year period. Their crew has already completed 6 units and is currently disassembling the 7th unit. CEO Machining will use state-of-the-art machining equipment to machine the horizontal surfaces, seal ring seat and seal ring, hollow dowels for the generator rotor, and facing plates. The work also includes line boring the bottom bores of the wicket gates and drilling and installing the radial dowels.

Work is expected to commence this summer.
